Nat 2020 copy.jpg

The foundation of my work explores the relationships between observation and interpretation in everyday landscapes with a search for beauty in chaos. There are contradictions and compliments in the montage of the environment: mayhem and tranquility, fear and courage, dichotomies, the presumed known and the unknown. A wall painted with scrawls carries individual voice and the realms of nature hold strong yet fragile beauty. Through expressionistic marks, I strive to create works both in homage to and reflections on the nature of transience, public as well as personal.
